If you have a jailbroken iOS device, chances are there that you are not able to play Pokemon Go. Because Pokemon Go developers have made it hard for jailbroken device users to play the game and trick their cheat detection technology.
Whenever you launch Pokemon Go, it will check if your iOS device is jailbroken or not. It’s unfair that the game developers have made Pokemon Go difficult to play on non-jailbroken iOS devices.
Hopefully, there’s a solution. You can play Pokemon Go on jailbroken device too. This can be done by bypassing the jailbreak check on Pokemon Go app.
Bypass Pokemon Go Jailbreak Check
There’s a Cydia tweak called Masterball that lets you bypass the jailbreak check that the Pokemon Go app does while starting up. It’s a lifesaver for many of the jailbroken iOS users.
You need to follow some of the steps to download and install Masterball tweak on your iOS device.
- Launch the Cydia app on your iPhone/iPad device.
- Add the following source to your Cydia app. http://cokepokes.github.io/. Wait for some time for the source to get added and whole sources and repos to get refreshed.
- Once the repo is added, search for the tweak “Superball”.
- Install the tweak and restart your device.
Hopefully, from now on Pokemon Go app should not check for jailbreak on your device.
For some versions of iOS, this tweak may not work. For those, I highly recommend installing “xCon” tweak that bypasses the Jailbreak check on all the app store apps including Pokemon Go.
